Job summary

Oklahoma State University–Stillwater is seeking a Benefits Specialist to provide specialized support for employee leave and retirement programs across the OSU system.

The role coordinates FMLA and other protected leaves with HR, Payroll, Benefits and partners. Responsibilities include determining eligibility, reviewing documentation, tracking usage, and assisting with retirement transitions and enrollments.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; degree preferred by start date.
• 4+ years in employee benefits, HR, or related customer service supporting HR functions.
• Post-secondary education may substitute for years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate FMLA and protected leave with HR stakeholders.
• Review documentation, determine eligibility, and track leave usage.
• Assist employees with retirement transitions, plan provisions, enrollment, and questions.
• Explain benefit coverage and premium responsibilities while on leave; maintain confidentiality.
