Job summary

Oklahoma State University seeks a benefits services professional to be the first point of contact for students and staff with benefits questions.

You will develop in-depth knowledge of OSU benefit, retirement, and student health plans, determine plan eligibility, and guide individuals to the right specialist or vendor as needed. A two-year customer service background is required; a Bachelor’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting in group settings.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, database and scanning software.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the first point of contact for benefits-related questions or concerns by providing customer service.
• Develops knowledge of OSU A&M benefit and retirement plans and OSU student health plan to administer plans.
• Determines eligibility and allowable changes to plan elections in accordance with plan documents and regulations.
• Assists employees in resolving benefit issues by coordinating with departments, payroll, technical teams and vendors.
• Identifies potential system-wide benefit issues and escalates as necessary.
• Presents benefit information at New Hire Orientation and enrollment events; adheres to HIPAA confidentiality.
