Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC is seeking a People Operations Leave & Accommodations Specialist in Phoenix to own the end-to-end leave and accommodation lifecycle. You’ll partner with HR, Payroll, Legal, Benefits, and external vendors to ensure compliant, timely case resolution and a positive employee experience.

The role emphasizes case ownership, vendor oversight, and operational excellence, with a focus on complex cases and continuous improvement across leave programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 4+ years in HR, Leave Administration, Benefits, Employee Relations, or People Operations.
• Experience managing leave of absence programs, ADA accommodations, or related services.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, and state leave laws.
• Experience working with third-party leave administrators, disability carriers, or benefits vendors.
• Strong case management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end leave and accommodation experience from initial request through return to work.
• Serve as the primary internal contact for employees and managers navigating leave and accommodation processes.
• Oversee all leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, Short/Long-Term Disability, Paid Family and Medical Leave, military leave and state programs.
• Coordinate interactive accommodation processes with HR, Legal, Payroll, Benefits and third-party providers.
• Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and drive service improvements.
• Ensure data accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and internal systems.
