Job summary

HRI Properties in New Orleans seeks a Compliance Leasing Specialist to handle leasing marketing and operations across LIHTC/HUD programs and ensure compliant leasing practices.

You will greet visitors, conduct tours, process applications in Yardi, perform background checks, and coordinate move-ins while maintaining accurate files. Strong Office skills and confidentiality are required; weekend hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• LIHTC, HOME, and HUD program knowledge a plus; explain requirements clearly
• Professionalism and confidentiality in all performance areas
• Self-starter, organized, and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
• Able to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• 1–2 years leasing experience required
• Customer service and sales experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Yardi/Elite experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, prospective renters, and residents warmly
• Maintain waiting lists and unit availability status
• Contact prospects on tax credit/public housing lists, schedule tours in Yardi
• Ensure units and model apartments are ready for viewing
• Process move-in applications with household interviews
• Complete background screenings and prepare files for lease signing
• Follow up promptly on applicant inquiries
• Conduct new resident orientations and explain lease provisions
• Ensure documents are signed and entered in Yardi and Elite
• Maintain resident files and assist with inspections and audits
• Assist with administrative tasks from the Compliance Manager
• Perform other related duties
