Job summary

HRI Properties in New Orleans seeks a Compliance Certification Specialist to manage move-in files, conduct household interviews, and ensure accurate documentation for certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with compliance in housing or related industries.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Familiarity with LIHTC, HOME, and HUD programs; COS or HCCP preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; capable of multitasking and self-starting.

Responsibilities

• Process all recertifications and interims by interviewing households and documenting data.
• Obtain third-party verifications, track responses, and submit files for approval.
• Prepare files for lease and certification signing.
• Begin processing recertifications 120 days before the effective date.
• Send annual recertification notices to tenants and follow up, including home visits.
• Ensure recertifications are completed at least 30 days before lease expiration.
• Maintain digital and paper files with accurate records.
• Maintain transfer waiting lists and eviction trackers.
• Ensure data is uploaded in Yardi and Elite, HANO’s monitoring system.
• Track unit inspections and be available to conduct inspections as needed.
• Assist property staff with answering property phone lines.
• Create work orders for maintenance issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
