Job summary

Kay Apartment Communities is seeking a leasing specialist for our 516-unit community in Annapolis, MD. You will be the first contact for prospective residents and help sustain occupancy by delivering outstanding service and a positive resident experience.

Responsibilities include managing leads, conducting tours, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records. A minimum of 2 years in customer service or sales is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of customer service and/or sales experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must successfully complete Kay’s sales training program.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

• Provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current residents per policies.
• Manage the sales process from lead to lease.
• Handle all incoming leads (phone, email, walk-in), following set procedures and script.
• Discover customer needs, qualify, and present solutions.
• Conduct apartment and community tours (value selling).
• Follow-up on leads via phone and email.
• Close the sale and process applications.
• Compile lease documents.
• Deliver a superior resident experience by building relationships and timely responses.
• Meet occupancy and resident retention goals.
• Use strong administrative skills (records, payments, data entry, file maintenance).
• Conduct apartment inspections and assist monthly community inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.

Kay’s leasing specialists are the first point of contact with prospective residents and are also responsible for the satisfaction of our current residents, while helping attain leasing, retention and occupancy goals. They are committed to providing superior customer service and a comfortable living experience for all residents. The leasing specialist reports to the community manager, and may be under the supervision of the assistant manager or leasing manager. Requirements

• Highly motivated, dependable and customer-focused
• Minimum 2 years of customer service and/or sales experience
• No previous property management experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must successfully complete Kay’s sales training program
• Superior sales and customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use problem-solving skills and best judgment to handle unpredictable situations and challenging customer interactions
• Strong time management and organizational skills , attention to detail
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Basic computer knowledge, and working proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Ability to work weekends
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
