Job summary

BSR REIT is seeking a Leasing Specialist for our McKinney, TX apartment community. You will provide information on the community, schedule visits, and promptly address resident needs to convert traffic into leases.

Responsibilities include guiding applicants through lease paperwork, maintaining accurate files, following up with prospects, and collaborating with maintenance on service requests. A high school diploma and 1–2 years leasing experience are required.

• 1–2 years apartment leasing experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent phone and in-person communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide information about the apartment and community and schedule visits.
• Determine resident needs and respond promptly in a professional manner.
• Close new leases using effective sales techniques.
• Explain lease and community policies to new residents.
• Maintain knowledge of rent, pricing, vacancies, and terms.
• Prepare leasing paperwork and maintain resident files.
• Answer phones, perform clerical duties, and update the database.

The Leasing Specialist performs a variety of duties associated with leasing and marketing the apartment community.The Leasing Specialist will be responsible for the following:Provide information about the apartment and the community to the prospective residents and schedule visits to the communityDetermine the needs and respond promptly to resident needs and concerns in a professional mannerQuickly close new sales and lease apartmentsUse effective sales techniques on the telephone and in person to maximize the conversion of traffic to leasesEffectively explain all lease and community policies to new and current residentsMaintain an accurate and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the community, particularly in areas such as rent and pricing information, vacancies, apartment availability, lease expirations, square footage, etc.Analyze concerns associated with apartments which are slow to lease and offers recommendations to the Property ManagerConduct follow up activity with all residents in order to establish positive resident relationsAccurately and efficiently prepares and assists with all leasing paperworkMaintain current resident filesMaintain accurate record of daily prospect calls and visitsCompletes service requests and communicates to service/maintenance department and enters information into the databaseAnswering phones, typing, filing and other clerical functions as deemed necessary.Follow all policies and procedures defined by BSR REITPerform all other duties as assignedRequirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredValid Driver's license required1-2 years apartment leasing experienceGeneral working knowledge of computers and computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel, Resman)Warm, engaging personalityFriendly, energetic with great people skillsExcellent at both phone and in person salesAbility to communicate effectivelyRead and write English fluentlyGood organizational skillsGood verbal skillsStrong customer service skillsAbility to close a saleAbility to operate general office equipmentAbility to multi-task and commit to high performance in a busy work environmentBSR REIT offers a competitive benefit program to assist team members with everyday life such as medical expenses and providing financial protection in the event of a major illness or injury.
