Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Leasing and Resident Services Specialist to join our team at West Mound Apartments! If you have experience in customer service, event management, hospitality, or sales and want to learn about real estate, our position may be perfect for you!

The Leasing and Resident Services Specialist will work with the management team to provide top-notch customer service while helping prospective residents find their perfect home. In this fast-paced sales role, you will have the opportunity to participate in an attractive incentive program. What will you do?

  1. Serve as a leasing agent and tour expert – this means being well-versed with our properties and amenities
  2. Show properties and sell their features and amenities to prospective tenants
  3. Review lease applications and document requirements for eligibility
  4. Assist in daily customer service operations including guest inquiries, preparing notices and resident communications, showings, tenant screenings, and tenant applications
  5. Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced office through multiple communication channels (phone, email, text) to maintain positive resident relations
  6. Prepare move-in paperwork, confirm residences are move-in ready, perform unit inspections, and perform move-in orientations with new residents
  7. Maintain good rapport with current and prospective tenants
  8. Process maintenance requests and follow up with residents to confirm the completion
  9. Learn and ensure compliance with all Fair Housing Laws including local, state, and federal housing regulations (We provide training)
  10. Pivot, roll up your sleeves, and jump in where needed!

Requirements

Who you are -- We’d love to hear from you if you:

  1. Hold a high school diploma or GED
  2. Have at least 1 year of customer service, hospitality, retail, or sales experience
  3. Have at least 1 year of office administration or data entry experience, preferred
  4. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  5. Must be able to obtain Illinois Residential Leasing Agent License within 1 year of employment (IL Properties ONLY) as applicable
  6. Must hold an active driver’s license w/ 2 years of driving history and pass MVR requirements
  7. Are proficient with computer applications and software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, AppFolio, Outlook) and aptitude for learning new software and systems
  8. Have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  9. Demonstrate superior attention to detail, high energy, and a positive attitude

Some additional things you will need:

  1. Availability to work longer hours and weekends during prime leasing season and turnover (specific dates vary from year to year)
  2. Must be able to perform the physical functions of the position resident communications, not limited to the ability to walk properties, complete physical inspections, deliver communications, and show properties
