Responsibilities
- Present available apartments via in-person tours, virtual tours, and calls.
- Collaborate with Community Manager to attract and qualify tenants.
- Market vacant units using online listings, social media, signage, and events.
- Communicate features, pricing, availability, and lease terms to prospects.
- Guide prospects through the leasing process to a signed lease, ensuring policy compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of local rental market and trends.
- Assist with resident retention, events, and customer service.

Bender Companies is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Leasing Consultant to join our team at one of our apartment communities in Steger. This individual will play a key role in maintaining a high occupancy rate at our community by identifying qualified prospects, guiding them through the leasing process, and ensuring resident satisfaction.
We are looking for someone who is not only knowledgeable in property management and leasing practices but also excels in relationship-building and communication. This position requires a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Full-Time
- $18-$20/hr (base pay)
- $100 per each new lease commission
- A percentage of renewals
- 9 AM to 6:00 PM (however hours may vary)
- Saturdays required (10 AM to 4:00 PM)
- Proven experience as a Leasing Consultant or in a sales focused position

- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- A customer-first mindset with the ability to build rapport quickly and provide tailored solutions
- Strong understanding of local leasing laws, fair housing regulations, and compliance standards
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
As a Leasing Consultant, your primary goal is to provide prospective residents with the information and support they need to make confident, informed decisions about leasing. You’ll serve as the first point of contact for many future tenants, guiding them through the leasing process, answering questions, and showcasing the features and benefits of the community.
This role is essential in maintaining high occupancy rates and ensuring a welcoming, professional leasing experience from start to finish.
- Professionally present available apartments to prospective residents through in-person tours, virtual tours, and phone/email communication
- Collaborate with the Community Manager and leasing team to identify, attract, and qualify potential tenants
- Market vacant units using a mix of online listings, social media, signage, and outreach events to generate leads and maintain visibility
- Accurately communicate community features, floorplans, pricing, availability, and lease terms to prospects
- Guide prospects through the leasing process from initial inquiry to signed lease, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the local rental market, competitor communities, and emerging trends
- Perform routine inspections of model units and vacant apartments to ensure optimal presentation and functionality
- Assist with resident retention efforts, community events, and ongoing customer service to enhance resident satisfaction and engagement
This position will require you to work on-site at the property in Steger.
- 90% employer-paid coverage of base Medical Insurance plan
