Job Description

The Leasing Consultant assists in the successful leasing of our properties. Provides excellent customer service and ensures high levels of resident and prospect satisfaction while supporting the day-to-day operations of the property. The company emphasizes teamwork to meet organizational and owner objectives. This role also requires compliance with all relevant fair housing laws and regulations.

Major Responsibilities

1. Lease apartments and maintain a satisfactory closing ratio.
2. Understand the property, surrounding area, competition, and local amenities.
3. Effectively communicate community amenities and services to prospects.
4. Develop compelling telephone presentations to attract potential residents, addressing and overcoming objections.
5. Stay informed about market conditions and competitors; provide updates to the Property Manager.
6. Conduct market surveys and visit competitor properties as needed.
7. Suggest marketing strategies to enhance the appeal of vacant units.
8. Familiarize with office procedures for efficient management.
9. Document resident interactions in files.
10. Prepare leases and coordinate move-in appointments.
11. Pre-qualify applicants according to resident selection criteria.
12. Obtain credit reports, verify employment, and rental references.
13. Engage in outreach marketing, including corporate calling and direct mail, as directed by the Property Manager.
14. Contribute to teamwork at company and property levels to ensure organizational success.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous leasing experience preferred.
3. Well-groomed, pleasant, and courteous.
4. Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and understand resident issues.
5. Valid Driver’s License.
6. Ability to pass background check, drug test, and pre-employment physical.
