Job summary

Fortis Property Management in The Meadows seeks a Leasing Consultant to lease apartments and maximize rent through excellent customer service. You will work with maintenance and management to show units, collect deposits, and prepare leases, while following up with prospects and maintaining an active renewal program.

No prior leasing experience is required; Fortis values diverse backgrounds and offers a commission and bonus structure tied to performance.

Qualifications

• Prior leasing/sales experience preferred.
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Position Overview

Help people find their new homes! Your main focus as a leasing consultant is to lease apartments while achieving the highest effective rent level. Executing leases triggers our competitive commission and bonus structure. Most importantly, our property management philosophy is maintaining strong customer service and resident satisfaction, which starts with each and every leasing consultant on the Fortis team.

No experience with property or leasing? No problem. You have more skills than you know! Often, successful leasing agents were once successful waiters/waitresses, customer service representatives, floor workers at big box stores, and call center employees. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

You assist in your community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident care and service. You work alongside a team of maintenance technicians, groundskeepers, and a maintenance supervisor on your property, all under the direction of your property/community manager. There, your contribution to the team is specifically:

• Show apartments
• Provide information to prospects via telephone and personal visits
• Accurately quote prices
• Follow up on all prospects
• Thorough knowledge of the immediate market and all comparable properties
• Thorough knowledge of the surrounding community
• Ensure all necessary application paperwork is obtained from prospects
• Provide superior customer service
• Collect money (deposits, rents, etc.)
• Prepare and review leases for accuracy
• Maintain effective and aggressive lease renewal program
• Inspect apartments for readiness
• Adherence to and proper implementation of all Fortis Properties Management policies and procedures
• Distribute move-in packages
• Other duties as delegated

Knowledge of and adherence to the following

• Fair Housing policies and procedures
• ADA policies and procedures

Experience

• Prior leasing/sales experience is preferred
• Proficiency in social media preferred
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio)
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
