Job summary

APG is seeking a Leasing Agent to be the first point of contact for prospective residents and a resource for current ones. You will market available apartments, lead tours, and guide applicants through the leasing process to help meet occupancy goals.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, sales, and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships, follow up on leads, and close leases. Weekend availability and reliable transportation are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Leasing, sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Market available apartments and respond promptly to prospective residents.
• Conduct property tours and follow up with leads to secure new leases.
• Process rental applications according to criteria and applicable policies.
• Prepare lease agreements and maintain accurate records in the system.
• Assist residents and support retention efforts.
• Ensure the property is presented professionally and meets occupancy goals.
• Meet occupancy and leasing goals while complying with Fair Housing laws.

About the job

As the Leasing Agent, you'll be the first point of contact for prospective residents and a trusted resource for current ones. You'll market available apartments, lead tours, guide applicants through the leasing process, and help the community meet its occupancy and leasing goals.

What you’ll do

• Market available apartments and respond promptly to prospective residents.
• Conduct property tours and follow up with leads to secure new leases.
• Process rental applications according to APG's written screening criteria, applied consistently to every applicant.
• Prepare lease agreements.
• Maintain accurate records in the property management system.
• Assist current residents and support resident retention efforts.
• Ensure the property is presented professionally.
• Meet occupancy and leasing goals.
• Comply with Fair Housing laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous leasing, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, sales, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships with prospects and residents, follow up on leads, overcome objections, and close leases.
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and property management software.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work both independently and as part of a team.
• A professional, customer-focused approach.
• Availability to work weekends as scheduled.
