Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent is seeking a Leasing Agent in Charleston, SC to serve as the company’s primary sales representative for prospective residents, driving occupancy through consultative selling and lease conversion. Responsibilities include prospecting, following up on inquiries, negotiating lease terms, and ensuring compliant leasing processes with support from underwriting and leasing teams.

Candidates need a high school diploma, 3+ years in sales, and a valid state real estate license;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three years of related sales or customer-facing sales experience.
• Leasing, real estate, or property management experience preferred.
• A valid State Real Estate License is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.

• Drive leasing performance by responding to and following up on inquiries from perspective residents.
• Engage with potential tenants, offering compelling insights into our housing options to encourage applications.
• Skillfully negotiate lease terms and provide thorough explanations of leases and related documents to new tenants.
• Perform leasing activities in accordance with applicable laws to maximize housing occupancy.
• Collaborate with underwriting and leasing teams to navigate applicants through the leasing journey.
• Stay informed about the company's policies and procedures to ensure compliance and up-to-date practices.

Compensation

The anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $25.00 Hourly. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.

Additional Compensation

This position is eligible to receive monthly bonus payments.
