Job summary

Red Tail Residential, LLC is seeking a Leasing Consultant to join our Baltimore-area team. You will show apartments, process applications, and provide outstanding customer service to prospects and residents, helping to create welcoming first impressions and a smooth leasing experience.

Weekend availability is required. The role supports our community operations with administrative duties and move-in coordination, while staying compliant with Fair Housing laws and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in the multifamily housing industry.
  • Fluent reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to effectively interact with prospects and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Show apartments and lease units to prospects.
  • Process rental applications per procedures.
  • Update unit availability daily and maintain leasing data.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, prospects and vendors.
  • Support move-ins and move-outs, and coordinate with maintenance.

Position Summary

The Leasing Consultant plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for prospective residents while delivering exceptional customer service throughout the leasing process. This position assists with leasing, administrative tasks, resident relations, and property operations while upholding company standards and ensuring a smooth move-in and move-out experience.

Weekend availability is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide superior customer service to residents, prospects, and vendors
  • Conduct and assist with market surveys
  • Show apartments, lease units, and assist with resident move-ins
  • Update unit availability daily and maintain accurate leasing information
  • Process rental applications in accordance with company procedures
  • Submit and track maintenance requests for residents
  • Receive and record collections following company standards
  • Provide general clerical, office, and phone support
  • Maintain complete and accurate resident files and documentation
  • Manage move-in calendars to ensure appointments are completed and units meet move-in standards
  • Address and help resolve resident concerns; escalates issues to the Supervisor when necessary
  • Conduct move-out walks and support the move-out process
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Special Requirements
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear
  • Occasional climbing may be required
  • Must be able to work at a computer and use a phone for extended periods
  • Must be able to detect auditory and visual alarms
  • Availability to work flexible and extended hours, including weekends, as needed
  • May require evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
  • Active participation in company meetings, events, and functions is required
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations professionally
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Effective time management and prioritization
  • Sales aptitude and comfort working with prospects
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws
  • Leadership qualities and ability to work independently
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to read and write English fluently and perform intermediate math functions
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the multifamily housing industry.
Computer Skills
  • Intermediate computer and internet proficiency
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Preferred experience with: Yardi, Voyager, LRO, Entrata, Resident Check
Learning & Development
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through company-provided training
  • Ability to effectively utilize all on-site property management software
