Job summary

Volker Development seeks an Asset Manager - Lease-Ups & Special Assets to protect and enhance the value of its affordable housing portfolio. You will manage lease-ups from handoff to stabilization, drive transitions from development to operations, and lead turnaround initiatives with property management and investors.

The role requires strong field presence, financial acumen, and experience overseeing third-party managers, with travel up to 50% across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Yardi or other real estate asset management software preferred.
• LIHTC or affordable housing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the lease-up process from construction completion to stabilization.
• Coordinate with Development, Finance, and Property Management teams on strategies.
• Oversee initial property operations setup and turnover readiness.
• Monitor absorption and pre-leasing pace against projections.
• Prepare stabilization calculations with data from property teams and CFO input.
• Lead troubled-asset discussions with management companies and investors.
