Job summary

Spencer’s is seeking a Leasing Analyst to manage lease payments, settlements, and related accounting for all Spencer’s and Spirit locations, ensuring data integrity and compliance with lease terms.

You will handle rent payments, landlord invoices, settlements, and percentage rent, while coordinating with Real Estate and FP&A on variances and reporting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent lease experience is preferred, with strong Excel/PeopleSoft skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant retail lease accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with multi-site lease accounting software packages.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word; PeopleSoft preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
• Able to meet tight deadlines during monthly close.
• Strong verbal and written communication across management levels.
• Willingness to work extra hours during Spirit season.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, audit, and process monthly rent payments and lease settlements, and landlord invoices while ensuring compliance.
• Manage percentage rent calculations, filings, and payments in the lease system.
• Ensure accurate sales data and monthly landlord sales reports; reconcile Spirit rent activity.
• Maintain lease accounting records, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze monthly variances and coordinate with Real Estate and FP&A to resolve issues.
• Serve as finance contact for landlords addressing payment and accounting inquiries.
• Support lease data integrity, refund processing, and related accounting tasks.
