Job summary

DoorDash, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lease Accounting Manager to lead ASC 842 lease accounting.

You will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and act as a technical expert ensuring accurate lease recognition as the portfolio grows, with ownership of complex scenarios and timely reporting. You will collaborate with Real Estate, Lease Administration and other functions, drive process improvements, and support SOX controls and audits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years accounting experience with deep ASC 842 lease accounting
• Experience reviewing lease agreements and interpreting terms for financial impact
• Ownership mindset with ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet close timelines
• Strong cross-functional partnership and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Responsibilities

• Review lease abstractions against new lease agreements and modifications for correct ASC 842 classification and recognition
• Perform detailed accounting analysis of complex lease arrangements and document conclusions
• Execute lease monthly close activities including journal entries and reconciliations
• Own lease financial reporting deliverables, including cash flows, rollforwards, and disclosures
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Lease Administration and other teams to align activity and timing
• Identify and lead process improvements and automation to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
• Maintain lease SOX controls and support internal/external audits
