DoorDash, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lease Accounting Manager to lead ASC 842 implementations and ensure accurate lease accounting as the business expands.

You will serve as a technical expert, owning monthly close, reporting, and disclosures while collaborating with Real Estate and Lease Administration teams. The role requires a proactive ownership mindset, the ability to handle complex lease scenarios, and strong communication with internal and external partners.

• 6+ years accounting experience including in-depth ASC 842 lease accounting.

Responsabilités

• Perform detailed accounting analysis of complex lease arrangements and unique scenarios, documenting conclusions.
• Conduct lease monthly close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
• Own lease financial reporting deliverables, including cash flows, rollforwards, and disclosures.
• Partner with Real Estate, Lease Administration and other teams to align activity with accounting.
• Lead process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
• Maintain lease SOX controls and support internal and external audits.

About the Team

The DoorDash Lease Accounting team ensures DoorDash's lease portfolio is reported accurately and on time under ASC 842. This requires deep technical accounting review and careful interpretation of complex, often ambiguous lease arrangements. As the portfolio grows in size and complexity, we continue to strengthen our processes to keep pace with the business.

About the Role

You will report to the Senior Accounting Manager on our Lease Accounting team. As the Lease Accounting Manager, you will be a key technical expert on ASC 842, ensuring DoorDash's leases are accounted for accurately as the business grows. This role is built for someone who takes ownership, stays ahead of the work, and works closely with partners across functions. Success means well-supported conclusions and dependable reporting each period, with the opportunity to apply your expertise to increasingly complex leases.

• Review lease abstractions against new lease agreements and lease modifications to ensure accurate classification and recognition of each lease in accordance with ASC 842.
• Perform detailed accounting analysis of complex lease arrangements and unique scenarios that go beyond standard treatment, documenting conclusions and supporting analysis.
• Perform lease monthly close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis
• Own lease financial reporting deliverables, including cash flows, rollforwards, and disclosures.
• Partner closely with Real Estate, Lease Administration and other cross-functional teams to understand lease activity early and keep the accounting accurate and timely.
• Proactively identify and lead process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce manual work and improve the accuracy and efficiency of processes.
• Maintain lease SOX controls and support both internal and external audit requests.

We're excited about you because...

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years accounting experience, including in-depth experience applying US GAAP lease accounting (ASC 842), which is essential to this role.
• Proven experience reviewing lease agreements, interpreting lease terms, and assessing their financial implications to determine the appropriate accounting treatment.
• Ownership mindset and proactiveness, with a track record of managing multiple deliverables and following them through to completion on close timelines.

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee's work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

• In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants.

Paid Time Off Details

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

National Base Pay Range

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.

$124,500 - $183,000 USD
