LearningWorks Afterschool is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant in Southern Maine to support elementary students with academic activities and enrichment. You will help teachers deliver instruction, work with small groups, and assist in creating a welcoming, structured learning environment.

Compensation: $19.85

LearningWorks Afterschool (LWAS) provides high-quality academic and enrichment programming for elementary students. LWAS partners with local school districts to help students strengthen foundational literacy and mathematics skills, improve school engagement, and develop the social-emotional skills necessary for academic success.
LearningWorks Afterschool is funded primarily through 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grants and is delivered in partnership with local school districts.
The Teaching Assistant works alongside the Site Coordinator and classroom Teachers to provide academic support to elementary students participating in the LearningWorks Afterschool Program.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships with children and believes every student can succeed when provided with encouragement, consistency, and individualized support. The Teaching Assistant plays an important role in creating a structured, welcoming classroom where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
