Job summary

UW-Stout Polytechnic seeks an AV Technician to support the digital learning environment and instructional media for classrooms, labs, and meeting spaces on campus in Menomonie, WI.

The role focuses on AV system troubleshooting, training faculty and staff, and planning AV/AI-enabled instructional technologies. This fixed-term, on-site position reports to Learning Technology Services and begins with the November 2026 start date.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with emerging AV technology.
• Experience with presentation technology using control systems such as Crestron, Extron, and Q-SYS.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Integrates, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots AV, videoconferencing, and instructional technology systems.
• Provide technical skills to troubleshoot audio, video, and instructional media hardware.
• Provide AV solutions that support instructional activities and align with pedagogical goals.
• Maintains and operates technical systems and infrastructure.
• Consult with faculty, staff, and students to plan, design, and implement AV and AI-enabled instructional technologies.
