Job summary

Brooklands College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work as part of a busy team. The role involves supporting learners in class 1:1 or small groups across levels, using strategies to assist reading, writing and maths, and helping students during exams.

The successful candidate will have an LSA qualification or be willing to obtain one, with strong IT, numeracy and communication skills. Generous holiday entitlement and on-site parking are among the benefits on offer.

We are an established provider of good quality College and School Links courses for young people and adults with learning difficulties and emotional/behavioural difficulties. Brooklands College is committed to supporting learners with a wide range of needs including dyslexia, autism and physical and sensory needs. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to provide support to learner/s for the duration of their course.

About the role:

As Learning Support Assistant, you will work as part of a team of LSAs. Your role will include:

• Support learners in class 1:1 or in small groups, working at a range of levels from entry level to L3 across all curriculum areas
• Use strategies to help students with reading, writing and maths skills
• Support students during their exams
• Keep careful records of all LSA support provided

To fulfil the role of Learning Support Assistant you will have:

• A relevant LSA qualification or willingness to take one a distinct advantage
• Good IT, numeracy, oral and written communication skills
• A sound understanding of the purpose of the Additional Learning Support function
