Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to the needs of individual students.
• Must pass background checks and any required training or certification.
• Availability to work part-time hours, including potential after-school or evening commitments.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing concepts and skills taught in the classroom.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
• Help prepare instructional materials and resources for classroom activities.
• Support students with special needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and necessary accommodations.
• Maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
• Assist with classroom management and promote positive behavior among students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
