Harlem Children’s Zone’s Promise Academy II Elementary in New York, NY seeks an Elementary School Learning Specialist (Special Education Teacher) to deliver inclusive instruction through ICT, develop IEP-aligned plans, and partner with general education teachers to support students' academic, social, emotional, and physical growth.

The schedule is Monday to Friday during a 10-month school year with optional summer opportunities for additional pay; required NYS Certification for Students with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NYS Teaching Certification for Students with Disabilities.
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in an urban school setting.
• Minimum of 2 years of SETSS or Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) experience.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and inclusive instruction through ICT models.
• Develop and implement personalized learning plans aligned with students' IEPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to meet diverse needs.
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress and milestones.
• Create engaging, differentiated lessons accessible to all learners.
• Build partnerships with families, school leaders, and colleagues.
• Maintain high expectations for student learning, behavior, and development.
