Job summary

Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy in New York seeks a Middle School Special Education Teacher to provide inclusive instruction and lead SETSS-based learning. You will develop IEP-aligned plans and collaborate with general education staff to support students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS certification for Students with Disabilities, a bachelor’s degree, and at least two years’ urban teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• New York State Teaching Certification for Students with Disabilities.
• Minimum 2 years teaching in an urban school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and inclusive instruction through SETSS.
• Develop and implement IEP-aligned learning plans.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to meet holistic student needs.
• Monitor and document student progress toward goals.
• Create differentiated, engaging lessons accessible to all learners.
• Build partnerships with families, school leaders, and colleagues.
