From the Heart Learning Solutions in West Los Angeles seeks an experienced Learning Specialist to join our collaborative team. You will provide 1:1 intervention in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning for students with learning differences.

Daytime availability 10–20 hours/week, travel across West Los Angeles, and a warm, creative, curious approach are essential. You’ll collaborate with the Educational Therapist and families to tailor engaging, evidence-based strategies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with students providing individualized intervention in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning.
• Provide services during daytime and afterschool hours at schools and homes in West Los Angeles (10–20 hours/week).
• Adapt instruction to each student’s strengths and needs with engaging, evidence-based methods.
• Collaborate with the Educational Therapist and other Learning Specialists; participate in ongoing training and feedback.
• Maintain prompt, professional communication with families and the team.

From the Heart Learning Solutions is a small educational therapy practice in West Los Angeles providing highly individualized academic intervention for students with learning differences and disabilities. We're looking for an experienced Learning Specialist with a background in special education, structured literacy, reading intervention, or related academic intervention work to join our collaborative team.

Our work is highly individualized and creative — we're always finding new ways to help a concept click, turning practice into games, and helping students build real confidence, not just get through a task. The right person is curious, warm, creative, and genuinely enjoys figuring out how individual children learn. We value continued learning, and our team is always refining our approaches and adding new strategies.

What You'll Do

• Work 1:1 with students with learning differences and disabilities, providing individualized intervention in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning.
• Provide services during daytime and afterschool hours at students' schools and homes throughout West Los Angeles, approximately 10–20 hours/week.
• Adapt instruction to each student's strengths, needs, and interests, finding creative, evidence-based ways to keep them engaged.
• Collaborate closely with the Educational Therapist and other Learning Specialists, and participate in ongoing training and feedback.
• Maintain prompt, professional communication with families and the team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience working 1:1 or in small groups with students with learning differences, disabilities, or significant academic needs.
• Background in structured literacy (PAF, Fundations, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or similar) and/or special education, reading/writing intervention, or resource support.
• A warm, engaging approach, with compassion, creativity, and flexibility in reaching each student.
• Cultural respect and sensitivity — we work with an extremely diverse group of students and families.
• Professionalism, reliability, and excellent, timely communication with families and the team.
• Curiosity, openness to feedback, and a genuine desire to keep growing as an interventionist.
• Daytime availability, 10–20 hours/week, and reliable access to a car to travel throughout West Los Angeles, including Santa Monica, Sawtelle, Beverly Hills, Pico-Robertson, Culver City, and surrounding areas.
