Job summary

From the Heart Learning Solutions in West Los Angeles seeks an experienced Learning Specialist to join our collaborative team. You will provide 1:1 intervention in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning for students with learning differences.

Daytime availability 10–20 hours/week, travel across West Los Angeles, and a warm, creative, curious approach are essential. You’ll collaborate with the Educational Therapist and families to tailor engaging, evidence-based strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience 1:1 or small-group with students with learning differences or disabilities.
• Background in structured literacy and/or special education, reading/writing intervention.
• Warm, engaging approach with compassion, creativity and flexibility.
• Cultural sensitivity with diverse students and families.
• Professionalism, reliability, and timely communication with families and team.
• Curiosity, openness to feedback, and growth as an interventionist.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with students providing individualized intervention in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning.
• Provide services during daytime and afterschool hours at schools and homes in West Los Angeles (10–20 hours/week).
• Adapt instruction to each student’s strengths and needs with engaging, evidence-based methods.
• Collaborate with the Educational Therapist and other Learning Specialists; participate in ongoing training and feedback.
• Maintain prompt, professional communication with families and the team.
