Job summary

Ferris Independent School District is seeking an instructional partner to work with campus principals and the curriculum, instruction, and assessment department to enhance student learning. The role focuses on coaching teachers, aligning TEKS, and using data to improve classroom practice.

The position requires a bachelor's degree, Texas teaching certificate, and experience in K-8 settings; master’s preferred. Familiarity with Canvas, Skyward, and Google Suite is desirable.

Serve as an instructional partner with campus principals and curriculum, instruction, and assessment department to enhance and improve student learning.

Education/Certification

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Master's preferred
• Valid Texas teaching certificate
• G/T and ESL certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Demonstrate skills in collegial coaching, mentoring, facilitation, and training
• Extensive knowledge of the TEKS/SEs, curriculum, instruction, and assessment for all subject areas
• Knowledge of state assessments, district screeners, and best practices in assessment
• Familiarity with district's programs and initiatives
• Working knowledge of instructional technology and the integration of technology to improve student mastery of content
• Capable of evaluating instructional programs
• Ability to interpret data and develop an action plan
• Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledgeable of trends in content areas, research-based effective teaching strategies, and professional learning
• Ability to perform in Canvas, Skyward, Google Suite, etc.
• Working knowledge of curriculum and assessment writing/alignment process
• Comfortable with working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Strong desire to continue professional learning
• Problem solver and exhibits initiative
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in a K-8 environment
