Responsibilities

• Help students complete classroom assignments and homework.
• Assist the teacher with lesson plans and individualized student supports.
• Help create a calm, structured, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
• Manage student behaviors by teaching problem-solving and self-regulation skills.
• Provide support and de-escalation strategies for behavioral or emotional challenges.
• Assist students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
• Support implementation of individualized behavior plans, accommodations, and interventions.
• Help students transition between classes and activities.
• Monitor and reinforce positive student behavior with consistent expectations.
• Assist students in participating in community-based learning and work-study opportunities.
• Communicate with the teacher and staff about student progress.
• Maintain documentation related to student behavior and participation.
• Support student independence, responsibility, and school success.
• Must be willing to secure and sustain a 7D driver’s license for transporting students.
