Job summary

City of Charlotte’s Charlotte Water Department seeks a Training and Development Specialist to design, implement, and evaluate professional development programs for staff from entry level to senior leaders.

The role coordinates training across divisions, leads succession planning, and delivers sessions virtually and in-person while leveraging Workday Learning and other tools to track progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school and 5 years of related work experience.
• Experience designing employee development plans and/or succession planning is preferred.
• Knowledge of HR policies and practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate professional development programs for staff at multiple levels.
• Coordinate and deliver trainings both virtually and in-person across divisions.
• Lead succession planning and coaching initiatives with leaders and staff.
• Assess training effectiveness and adjust curricula to meet evolving needs.
