Job summary

Ahlstrom is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist for the Paper Mill to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of hourly workforce training. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and HR to ensure employees have the skills and development opportunities for a safe, productive, and high-performing workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Education, Organizational Development, Operations, Industrial Technology, Engineering or related field/equivalent experience.
• Manufacturing or industrial experience (union experience).
• Apprenticeship or skilled trades development experience.
• Experience with training compliance, qualifications, or competency-based learning systems.
• Continuous Improvement or Lean experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead workforce development initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify gaps and design training and development solutions.
• Coordinate apprenticeship and skilled trades development programs.
• Develop and maintain onboarding, qualification, certification, and training programs.
• Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure audit-ready records.
• Collaborate with leaders to strengthen employee development and engagement.
