Dallas College seeks a library professional to deliver high-quality public library services, including instruction, reference, and collection management, to a diverse user community in support of the College's curriculum and mission.

The role requires strong information literacy instruction skills, ability to assist with research, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service and student success.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide first-level Learning Commons service support for students.
• Ability to respond to requests for general information with a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to refer to other service areas when needed.
• Performs related service functions that support department operations.
• Understands the role this position plays within the College's mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop, teach, and assess information literacy in various environments at multiple College locations.
• Participate in planning and conducting student and faculty orientations.
• Assist faculty with integration of library research in courses (in person and online).
• Provide answers to reference questions and conduct reference interviews.
• Maintain reference desk schedule and interact with patrons on-campus and online.
• Engage in professional development and stay current in the field.
• Maintain the Reference and Circulation areas and ensure excellent customer service.
