Job summary

Midlothian Council is recruiting a Learning Assistant ASN for Mayfield Primary School. The role requires literacy and numeracy at the appropriate level and a background in early years care and education.

The successful candidate will support pupils and staff, working within a nursery environment where registration with the SSSC may be required within six months of appointment. Contract is fixed term until 29/06/2027, with PVG Scheme membership and Disclosure Scotland checks necessary.

Qualifications

• Evidence of basic literacy and numeracy at required level to enable communication with staff and pupils.
• Ability to respond to the needs of individual pupils.
• Experience in the field of work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
• PVG Scheme membership required or updated before starting employment.
