SUMMARY: The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist will play a key role on a team that strives to ensure Brown University Health can attract, develop, and retain the best talent. The L&D Specialist will contribute ideas to the team’s innovations and will be responsible for supporting the execution of various training programs. These may include new employee and new leader orientations, managerial development, career development, and basic business skills. The L&D Specialist will schedule and coordinate training sessions, facilitate high-quality learning experiences in virtual and in-person classrooms, administer and track evaluations of learning, and maintain training documents and records.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, or a related field, or the equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of related experience in training and development, e-learning, organizational development, or a related field
  • 1+ year of related and documented experience in adult learning and instructional design
  • Passion for learning, increasing employee capability, and achieving business results through people development
  • Excellent public speaking and verbal communication skills in a corporate environment
  • Ability to actively collaborate and build relationships with leaders and HR partners to deliver results
  • Experience delivering virtual training
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proactive and able to take initiative without waiting for direction
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and motivate groups
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and e-learning tools
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences for managers and employees, including in-person and virtual sessions
  • Partner with Talent Management team members to develop Leadership and Management Development programs
  • Identify training needs with subject matter experts and stakeholders
  • Co-create and review training content and programs across multiple formats
  • Build multimedia content using e-learning tools
  • Coordinate training sessions and maintain training records
  • Develop metrics to evaluate training effectiveness and increase visibility of talent initiatives
  • Consult on adult learning and instructional design as needed
  • Assist with managing workflows and data tracking on Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
