Job summary

CenterPoint Energy, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Consultant to lead Lean initiatives across business units with limited supervision. You will facilitate cross-functional teams, develop charters, and drive data-driven improvement projects that align with enterprise strategies.

A strong focus on waste elimination and structured problem solving will be essential to succeed. You will collaborate with leadership to deliver value through visual management, standard work, and end-to-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering, operations research, business, finance, technology or organizational management preferred. Others accepted.
• Minimum 2 years in lean methodologies, process improvement, project management, financial analytics, agile and/or relevant experience in utility industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data-driven analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Understand the corporate strategic plan to assist in evaluation and determination of improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams to create standardized processes and implement continuous improvement in support of business unit plans.
• Be a change agent and champion of a continuous improvement culture focused on waste elimination using lean methods and tools like 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Analysis.
• Develop and implement high level and detailed KPIs; teach others to develop reliable measurement methods and communications tools.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of data produced and results reported; work cohesively in a detail-oriented team environment.
• Develop project charters, define requirements, scope, baseline metrics, resources, and owners; manage schedules across concurrent assignments.
