Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lean Transformation Lead to guide the Engineering Design and Project Execution teams in delivering continuous improvement and Lean maturity across the Newcastle-based FPS organization.

You will partner with site leadership, Supply Chain Lean professionals, and global FPS colleagues to improve productivity, quality, and delivery performance while embedding Lean into daily work practices.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Lean, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or Business Transformation within Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Project Execution environments.
• Experience leading or supporting Lean transformation programmes within complex technical organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies and tools: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, A3, DMAIC, Visual Management.

Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing delivery and evolution of the Engineering Lean Journey programme and define future operational excellence priorities.
• Develop Lean strategies, roadmaps, and improvement plans aligned with Engineering and Project Execution.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to identify opportunities and translate them into structured initiatives.
• Facilitate Lean workshops, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and problem-solving sessions to drive measurable improvements.
• Coach teams in Lean principles and continuous improvement behaviours.
• Support root cause analysis, process optimization, and elimination of non-value-added activities.
• Establish governance, metrics, visual management, and Lean maturity assessments.
• Collaborate with global FPS Lean teams and support cross-site improvement initiatives, including occasional international travel.
