Job Description

Are you a seasoned Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with a passion for driving process improvements and operational excellence? Verisk is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Process Improvement Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify, analyze, and implement process enhancements that will optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall quality across our organization. Responsibilities
  1. Performs moderate to complex analyses of business goals, objectives and needs within the general business environment.
  2. Identifies potential risks and issues relating to the delivery of projects and manages a resolution process in a timely manner.
  3. Leads cross-functional projects to drive improvement in process metrics, targeted financial benefits, and achieve company goals.
  4. Works with business functions to develop and implement data gathering techniques to identify and rank opportunities for continuous improvement.
  5. Leads major projects and assists other project leaders to drive improvement in process metrics, targeted financial benefits, and achieve company goals.
  6. Works in coordination with leadership to analyze, monitor and assess critical activities affecting policy, organizational guidance, and developmental processes.
  7. Assists with data analysis, conclusions and presentations related to project completion and findings.
  8. Provides project leadership.
  9. Monitors and analyzes the effectiveness of Lean Six Sigma project work versus goals and objectives, and corporate expectations, and takes appropriate action to improve performance as indicated.
  10. Mentors and coaches Green Belts, SMEs, and team members.
  11. Supports Black Belts and Green Belts in the certification process.
  12. Provides training in Lean and Six Sigma concepts.
  13. Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
  14. Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
  15. Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
  1. A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, while a Master's in Business or Engineering is considered a plus.
  2. A Black Belt Certification is also required.
  3. Candidates should possess 8-10 years of experience, and a portfolio of past work is preferred.
  4. The role entails 25% travel and demands strong analytic aptitude to assess and address moderate to complex business problems.
  5. Candidates must be able to develop and implement solutions to meet business unit goals.
  6. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both collaboratively and independently.
  7. They should be able to collaborate with senior stakeholders and drive improvement results.
  8. Polished presentation and public speaking skills are necessary to interact at an executive level.
  9. Additionally, strong coaching, mentoring, and instructional capabilities on advanced continuous improvement concepts are required.
  10. Strong written communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential, enabling the candidate to communicate effectively at both business and technical levels.
  11. The candidate must be production-minded, customer-oriented, results-driven, and capable of working in a team within a high-performance environment.
