Job Overview:

RWJBH Enterprise Performance Improvement Division supports systemwide performance improvement activities across various clinical and functional service lines. This position will be part of a team responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. This team utilizes LEAN Six Sigma principles to evaluate and validate project opportunities and manage projects as assigned by the Performance Improvement Division. Projects will be complex engagements involve that improve and increase enterprise value and ensure financial discipline.

This job uses data-driven insights to identify and develop actionable opportunities and outcomes. The incumbent serves as a consultative subject matter and technical expert, leveraging Lean Six Sigma principles, analytics, and project management expertise and experience to partner with service area partners in the successful execution of identified opportunities for clinical and operational efficiencies and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in business, healthcare, or financial management
  • A minimum of two years of demonstrated In-depth understanding of, and experience with project management
  • Demonstrated record of data-driven discovery
  • Ability to effectively work independently while seeking guidance as necessary
  • Exhibit organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with project team members, stakeholders, executives, and internal customers, exceptional written and oral presentation skills, proven ability to communicate interpersonally and technically with both operational and financial audiences

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma principles, Green Belt Certification preferred
  • Finance and project manager methodology experience preferred

Certifications and Licenses

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify and prioritize opportunities aligned to the four system pillars, leading to sustainable value-based business results.
  • Facilitate the capturing, analyzing, and interpretation of operational data to drive effective decision-making and process optimization strategies.
  • In collaboration with EPI financial team and the operational team, develop and validate appropriate target performance metrics.
  • Oversight in the development and implementation of appropriate initiatives to support performance improvement initiative, defining scope, timelines, roles, and responsibilities of the operational team.
  • In partnership with EPI financial team, establish financial tracking mechanism to measure and validate realized savings.
  • Communicate with senior leadership to escalate issues and risks, non-performance, and non-participation for resolution.
  • Adjust performance targets based on new findings during the implementation phase.
  • Employ appropriate change management skills and establish metrics to support sustainability of the performance improvement effort.
  • Serves as a strategic business partner as demonstrated by providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise, and by anticipating and actively proposing, designing, and executing analyses.
  • Provides consultative, technical, subject matter and business expertise mentorship to colleagues across the enterprise.
  • Applies knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma and other related project management experience to frame recommendations.
  • Identifies project resources necessary and partners with Resource Managers, Department Leads, and vendors to assign individual responsibilities.
  • Develops and maintains charter, work plan, timeline, KPI, and measurable outcomes
  • Organizes and drives the process with clear tracking mechanism and expectations/accountability
  • Creates and maintains well-written and effective project documentation including requirements, scope, charter, investment summary, status reports, issues, risks, lessons learned, and other necessary project documents.
  • Establishes strong, collaborative, and effective relationships and communication with project team, clinical, administrative, operational, financial, and technical stakeholders to ensure project execution are actionable and aligned with organizational strategic priorities, needs, plans, and resources.
