Job summary

Mativ is seeking a proactive Process Optimization Intern to support manufacturing operations by identifying, analyzing, and improving processes. You will work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to collect data, conduct studies, and implement improvements.

The Summer Internship Program runs May 2027 to August 2027 and offers paid experiences, dedicated intern manager, professional development, and community service opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Analytics.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, Visio, or Adobe Acrobat.
• Interest in manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality systems.
• Comfortable working in a plant or production environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Team player with organizational and technical skills; able to balance multiple assignments.
• Desire to contribute in a continuous learning environment for a possible full-time career.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing and operational processes to identify efficiency improvements.
• Collect, organize, and interpret production data, KPIs, and process metrics.
• Conduct time studies, workflow analyses, and value stream mapping.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
