iA (Innovation Associates) is offering a 10-week Manufacturing Engineering Intern program in New York. You will support Lean initiatives, analyze processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive waste reduction and efficiency.

This internship emphasizes hands-on problem solving, data analysis with Excel/Power BI/Minitab, and exposure to kaizen and 5S activities. You will work with engineering, production, and quality teams to identify bottlenecks, develop standard work, and

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on, team-oriented attitude.
• Passion for innovation and improving manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance workflow.
• Analyze existing processes and help develop standard work instructions, process maps, and value stream analyses.
• Assist with time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to optimize production efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve bottlenecks and quality issues.
• Participate in kaizen events, 5S audits, and other continuous improvement activities.
• Collect and analyze data using Excel, Power BI, or Minitab to monitor process performance.
• Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and implementation plans to the manufacturing engineering team.
• Help implement poka-yoke techniques and visual management to improve reliability.
