Job summary

The Marmon Group LLC is seeking a Lean Continuous Improvement Engineering Intern to help deploy, evaluate, and implement Lean across the Marmon Transportation Group. You will promote continuous improvement, engage with employees at all levels, and contribute to safety, quality, and cost initiatives.

Preferred Detroit metro/Chicagoland area with 20-50% travel to other facilities; development role offering growth in Lean and automation.

Qualifications

• Energy and initiative to create programs and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with local team to identify process gaps and implement process improvements to boost safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Manage lean transformation activities and projects at a plant.
• Collaborate with automation team to optimize processes before automation and justify projects.
• Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen/Impact Events from ideation to sustainment.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees on lean methods.
• Establish and report performance measures tied to plant objectives.
• Partner with site leadership to assess critical sites and align with business priorities.
