Job summary

The Marmon Group LLC is seeking a Lean Continuous Improvement Engineering Co‑op to support deployment and evaluation of Lean at Marmon Transportation Group. You will promote continuous improvement methods, facilitate Kaizen events, and collaborate with plant teams to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, and cost.

You’ll work with local leadership to drive outcomes, build competency plans, and coordinate with automation teams for pre-automation optimization.

Qualifications

Energy, enthusiasm, and initiative to create programs and drive outcomes.
Ability to lead and influence others without formal control.
Travel 20-50% to other facilities and relocation for co-op terms.
Independent, self-starter with relationship-building skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, SharePoint, Smartsheets.

Responsibilities

Identify process gaps with local team and implement improvements to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and development.
Lead lean transformational activities and projects at a plant.
Collaborate with automation teams to optimize processes pre-automation and justify projects.
Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events from ideation to sustainment.
Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees on lean practices.
Establish performance measures and report progress to leadership.
Partner with site leadership to align with business priorities and future-state goals.
