Job summary

Lumen, a leader in AI-enabled connectivity, seeks a Lean Portfolio Manager to drive portfolio strategy, governance, and execution across Product Infrastructure. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to align initiatives with corporate priorities and achieve measurable outcomes.

You will provide governance across multiple programs, enable executive decision-making, and improve execution efficiency while delivering executive-focused reporting and insights.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in Portfolio/Program/Product Management or Strategy.
• Experience managing large-scale, enterprise portfolios and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong financial acumen coordinating investment inputs and translating analysis into executive recommendations.
• Experience enabling executive leadership through strategic planning, governance, and reporting; does not own day-to-day operations.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
• Expertise in portfolio management methodologies and governance frameworks.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in telecommunications, technology, infrastructure, SaaS, networking, or related industries preferred.
• Balance strategic thinking with detailed execution oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise portfolio planning, prioritization, and governance processes across Product Infrastructure.
• Establish and manage portfolio roadmaps aligned with long-term business and product strategy.
• Facilitate executive decision-making through portfolio reviews, investment recommendations, and strategic trade-off analysis.
• Develop portfolio health metrics, KPI dashboards, and executive reporting structures.
• Coordinate business-case inputs with cross-functional partners to validate assumptions and financial impacts.
• Lead NPI governance and coordinate development execution across gates and required decision points.
• Monitor benefits realization and performance against approved business cases.
• Provide portfolio-level oversight for complex, enterprise-wide programs.
• Partner with Product Managers to provide governance, prioritization, dependency management, and risk visibility.
• Identify dependencies, risks, constraints, and resource requirements.
• Establish repeatable portfolio management practices and operating rhythms.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce cycle times and improve execution.
• Prepare executive-level materials for leadership reviews and updates.
