Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Lean Portfolio Manager to lead portfolio strategy, governance, and execution across Product Infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Finance, and executives to align initiatives with priorities and measurable outcomes.

The role focuses on governance, risk, and coordinated delivery across programs, enabling product teams to concentrate on strategy, customer outcomes, and roadmaps. This is a remote US position.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Portfolio Management, Program Management, Product Management, Business Operations, or Strategy.
• Experience managing large‑scale, enterprise‑level portfolios and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strong financial acumen with experience coordinating investment inputs and translating analysis into executive recommendations.
• Experience enabling executive leadership through strategic planning, portfolio governance, executive reporting, and decision support.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
• Knowledge of portfolio management methodologies, governance frameworks, and strategic planning.
• Experience in telecommunications, technology, infrastructure, SaaS, networking, or related industries preferred.
• Executive presentation development and storytelling expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise portfolio planning, prioritization, and governance processes across Product Infrastructure.
• Establish and manage portfolio roadmaps aligned with long‑term strategy.
• Facilitate executive decision‑making through portfolio reviews and investment recommendations.
• Develop portfolio health metrics, KPI dashboards, and executive reporting structures.
• Coordinate business‑case inputs with cross‑functional partners and validate assumptions and financial impacts.
• Lead NPI governance and coordinate development across gates and decision points.
• Provide portfolio oversight for complex programs and align teams with strategy.
• Drive repeatable portfolio management practices, governance frameworks, and operating rhythms.
• Create executive briefings and materials for leadership reviews and Steering Committees.
