Job summary

Amsted Automotive in Illinois is seeking a warehouse and shipping associate to support lean manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and material staging. You will operate forklifts, handle SAP handheld scanners, and ensure safe, efficient movement of large containers.

You will coordinate paperwork and inventories while maintaining a clean, organized finished goods area. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in automotive shipping standards with JIT delivery

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years automotive shipping standards and just in time delivery requirements
Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving
Requires excellent forklift skills, a valid driver’s license
Must be able to move large containers safely without damage
Usage of a computer and other workplace machinery such as SAP handheld scanners, calculators, and printers

Responsibilities

Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles.
Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings.
Support safe forklift handling and practices.
Creates deliveries and stages material in preparation for shipment to the customer and/or outside processing. Includes assigning product in SAP.
Responsible for maintaining a safe, organized and clean finished goods area.
Distributes receiving paperwork to the appropriate departments.
Assists in performing periodic Cycle Counts and Physical inventories.
Backup duties to the Material Control Coordinator as assigned.
Works directly with Material Control Coordinator, and indirectly with General Production Supervisor, and Production Supervisors.
Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
Understand and perform to the BN Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced.
