Job summary

HuFriedyGroup in Northbrook, IL is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead machining operations and drive SQDC excellence on the shop floor. You will focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost, champion standard work, and develop a high-performance team.

As a key leader, you will apply Lean methods, monitor KPIs, participate in Kaizen and TPM initiatives, and collaborate with Quality, HR, Planning, and other departments to ensure smooth shift transitions and reliable production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with Lean or continuous improvement exposure.
• Experience in supervisory or team leadership roles on a manufacturing floor.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T and related documentation.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Develop a shop floor culture aligned with SQDC goals and standard work.
• Lead daily SQDC board meetings and communicate performance metrics.
• Monitor the production floor for safe operations and investigate incidents.
• Provide actionable feedback on performance, safety, and improvements.
• Drive employee engagement through Lean initiatives and a positive work environment.
• Coordinate countermeasures and longer-term improvements for safety, quality, and cost.
