Job summary

Carlisle Brake & Friction leads manufacturing operations at its Medina, Ohio facility. We seek a production supervisor who will drive safety, quality, and productivity while coaching teams and aligning across departments to meet goals.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, Lean experience, and the ability to resolve issues at the source, with a hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in manufacturing, operations, engineering, business, or a related field.
• Five or more years of manufacturing experience, including at least three years leading production employees.
• Demonstrated success managing safety, quality, delivery, labor, productivity, and cost performance.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and structured root-cause problem-solving.
• Strong coaching, communication, conflict-resolution, and performance-management skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems such as ERP, MES, or electronic timekeeping.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals.
• Plan daily staffing and work assignments based on production requirements, employee capabilities, and equipment availability.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices, including PPE, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and plant safety procedures.
• Monitor production output, downtime, scrap, rework, labor efficiency, and schedule attainment.
• Use data and structured root-cause methods to resolve equipment, process, quality, and workflow issues.
• Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 6S, standard work, visual management, kaizen, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain, and Human Resources to resolve operational issues.
• Set clear employee expectations and provide timely coaching, recognition, performance feedback, and corrective action.
• Coordinate employee onboarding, training, cross-training, and skills development.
• Ensure accurate production reporting, timekeeping, attendance tracking, and shift handoffs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready production environment.
