Job summary

Atkore in Harvey, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for the 3rd shift (Mon–Fri, 11 PM–7 AM) to lead the machine operating staff. You will own safety, quality, delivery, and productivity for the shift and champion continuous improvement within the Atkore system.

You will develop plans to engage the team, coach members, and implement cross training. The role requires strong communication, Lean Daily Management experience, and collaboration with Safety, Quality and HR to drive SQDC results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in steel manufacturing or tube forming strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead using the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management within their teams and utilize Lean tools for improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Develop plans and implement strategies to improve the engagement, alignment, and performance of the team members within the value stream.
• Instill and maintain a positive “can-do” team atmosphere within the value stream by holding regular team meetings, assigning tasks to team members, empowering team member decision-making, and coordinating support services.
• Implement cross training activities to ensure proper function of the work cells and maximize team’s potential.
• Develop and coach team members within the value stream with necessary skills to identify problems and challenges, perform root cause analyses and implement countermeasures and solutions as necessary.
• Manage vacation schedules and overtime.
• Lead by example and live the Atkore Values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
