Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Production Supervisor to plan, schedule and direct the production operations department to meet productivity, safety, quality, delivery and cost goals in a manufacturing environment.

You will lead daily activities, coordinate material handling, and drive continuous improvement using lean techniques and SOPs while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Experience: 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
• Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effectively present information and instructions and respond to questions from management and inter‑department staff.
• Capable of leading discussions and meetings with peers and associates from other departments.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn guest supply technology software (WMS).

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and monitor daily activities and performance of production associates to ensure productivity, quality, safety and policy compliance.
• Direct, coordinate and monitor activity of the material handling area for direct and indirect labor.
• Manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring and conflict resolution.
• Take corrective action as necessary and per policy.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate policy changes; address concerns and encourage improvements.
• Participate in staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations and terminations as needed.
• Assess business demand, prioritize and assign daily work; determine line staffing.
