Job summary

MSA Safety is hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer at our Jacksonville, NC plant. You will lead process improvements, support NPD, and collaborate across Engineering, Production, Materials and Quality to optimize safety-focused manufacturing operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in an ABET-accredited program, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and ability to travel up to 5%. This is a full-time on-site position at our NC facility, with opportunities to mentor teams and advance Lean

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams and documentation.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and leading projects in cross-functional teams.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge and problem-solving mindset.
• Six Sigma experience and PMP cert are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advocate safety and ergonomics across operations and improve industrial work systems.
• Perform time studies, define costs, and maintain routings and manufacturing docs.
• Support process improvements for quality, layout, throughput, and cycle times.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Materials and Quality; review docs before release.
• Lead best-practice documentation and standard work development.
• Participate in NPD teams; ensure manufacturability and design for assembly.
• Recommend capital equipment and manage commissioning.
• Analyze variances and drive corrective actions.
• Build positive relationships across organization levels.
