Job summary

MSA, The Safety Company is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for its Jacksonville, NC plant. The role focuses on advancing lean manufacturing, improving process efficiency, and coordinating with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.

A strong background in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required. The position involves safety leadership, process documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited program in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with manufacturing environments and continuous improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote behavior-based safety across operations and improve workplace ergonomics.
• Conduct time studies and define manufacturing costs, develop work standards and documentation.
• Assist in improving processes covering quality, layouts, throughput and cycle times, aligning with CI initiatives.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Materials, and Quality to ensure documentation is complete and released.
• Lead best practices and standard work documentation efforts.
• Provide training to teams for problem solving and process improvements.
• Contribute to NPD teams to ensure manufacturability and design-for-manufacturability.
• Recommend capital equipment and manage implementation and commissioning.
• Review variances in production order closeouts and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain positive relationships across organizational levels.
